The National Association Of Green Agents and Brokers (NAGAB) is Canada’s largest Non Profit association of Greenrealestate™ representatives. The Association is committed to promoting ways and means of reducing greenhouse gas emissions, increasing building energy efficiency, conservation, overall sustainability and environmental awareness. The association offers an affordable Greenrealestate™ program for real estate representatives leading to the Accredited Greenagent™ and Accredited Greenbroker™ (AGA™ & AGB™) designations.

Leslie Bender, Vice President Operations, Harvey Kalles Real Estate Ltd. Brokerage

Leslie Richman Bender is Vice President of Operations for Harvey Kalles Real Estate Ltd. She is also Co-Editor of Collections Magazine, and has played a pivotal role in ensuring the magazine brings to the forefront issues of environmental concern such as global warming, the Alberta oil sands, and renewable energy resources.

Kathrin Bohr, Vice President & Managing Director, Canadian Business for Social Responsibility (CBSR)

Kathrin heads up the Toronto office of CBSR. Her responsibilities include growing the membership base across Canada and ensuring thought leadership for the organization through the strategic development of programs, services and initiatives that allow CBSR to focus on meeting the CSR/sustainability needs specific to Canadian companies.

She holds an MBA with a specialization in Business and Sustainability from the Schulich School of Business, York University as well as a BA in History and Political Science from the University of Toronto. Kathrin also brings to her position over 15 years experience in sales & marketing and consulting within both the private and public sectors.

Ryan Dagleish, Vice President BPC Canada, Business Professional Consortium

Ryan Dalgleish is the Vice-President of the bpc Building Professional Consortium, a full service training, quality assurance, certification and consulting provider to the North American energy efficiency and green building market for the past 25 years.

He has been involved in building energy efficiency and performance areas of construction in both the commercial and residential sectors for 14 years. Much of Ryan’s time is spent on technology transfer and training, market development and overseeing their certification division.

Ryan attended and continues to attend the University of Manitoba for his education in adult and continuing education degree and other continuing education programs related to quality management, marketing and association management. Ryan has also published a number of papers for design and construction magazines and is frequently a speaker at various technical presentations dealing with the building envelope and energy efficiency across North America. Ryan currently serves as the president of the Manitoba Building Envelope Council, a director of the National Building Envelope Council, is a founding director of the Energy Efficient Contractors Network, director of the building performance training institute for construction, President of the Building Professionals Quality Institute and is a member of the Manitoba Home Builders Association Education Committee, Construction Specifications Canada, Manitoba Chapter of the Canadian Green Building Council Industry Liaison committee and the Building Energy Management Manitoba association.

Elden Freeman, B.A., M.E.S., AGB, Founder & Executive Director of the National Association Of Green Agents and Brokers, Vice President Freeman Real Estate Ltd, Brokerage

Elden Freeman graduated with a Master’s degree in Environmental Studies from York University in 1987. From 1987 to 1989 Mr. Freeman worked as a management consultant in the Strategic Management Group of a very large Toronto consulting firm. In 1989 he joined Freeman Real Estate Ltd, Brokerage the family owned downtown Toronto firm his father Barry started in 1972. From 1989 on he worked with his mother Nancy and later his brother Daniel to become consistent Top rated Realtors. In 2008, he along with his partners Nancy and Dan Freeman were independently rated #1 Agents by Units and Value of residential listings sold in downtown and central Toronto (C01, C02, C03) and Rated Top 45 Agents out of 28,000 agents in the GTA for value of residential sold.

Mr. Freeman is passionate about the environment. His home boasts a large array of solar panels, he planted a native garden, grows some of his own food and drives an energy efficient Toyota Yaris.

Since 2004, Mr. Freeman has dedicated a great deal of his time and energy to developing a practical Real Estate industry response to reducing greenhouse gas emissions and environmental degradation through conservation and sustainability efforts. Mr. Freeman realized that Real Estate agents could act as an efficient point of contact for the rapid deployment of Realtors as Agents of Change, as leaders in spreading the message of energy conservation,
sustainable development and whole home health to home sellers and buyers.
With this in mind Freeman created the National Association Of Green Agents and Brokers (NAGAB). As the association’s founder and Executive director Elden Freeman has developed an education program leading to the the Accredited Green Agent™ and Accredited Green Broker™ (AGA™ & AGB™) designations.

It is the vision of the National Association of Green Agents and Brokers to be seen as a positive force in promoting ways of improving energy conservation and environmental awareness of buyers and sellers of new and resale residential real estate across Canada and the United States.

Jed Goldberg, President Earth Day Canada

Goldberg is frequently interviewed in the media as an expert in the area of environmental protection. His opinions have been broadcast on CBC National TV News, CTV Canada AM, The Globe and Mail, The Toronto Star, TVO Studio 2 as well as numerous other media outlets. He is a frequent speaker at conferences across Canada. Recent presentations include: Federation of Canadian Municipalities Annual Convention, Recycling Council of Ontario Annual Convention, Toyota Canada ISO 14001 Launch, Canadian Students’ Leadership Conference and Target Zero Canada Launch. Mr. Goldberg serves on the board of several organizations. He lives in Toronto with his wife Sheila and their two children.

Norman Dyer – Director Market Development

Norman is one of the Association’s in class instructors. Norman is also a licensed real estate sales representative in the province of Ontario.

Norman is also responsible for motivating real estate sales professionals within the industry, to become more knowledgeable on real estate-related energy conservation and associated environmental issues.

Norman is a former certified energy auditor, and has an extensive background in sales and sales management in the residential HVAC industry.

Norman brings to the Association a passionate interest in sustainability, green home building, and applying renewable energy technologies to Canada’s new and existing stock.

Audrey Freidin, B.I.D., B.Ed., M.E.S., LEED® AP – Director Commercial real estate Program

Audrey is one of the associations in class course designers and instructors. Audrey holds a Master in Environmental Studies (M.E.S.) from York University, a Bachelor of Interior Design (B.I.D.) from the University of Manitoba, and a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) from the University of Toronto. She is a retired member of ARIDO. Audrey is a LEED® accredited professional (NC).

Audrey has taught sustainability in the interior design programs Humber College Institute of Technology and Advanced Learning and Ryerson University in Toronto, Canada.

Lynda Cam – Director Customer Service

Lynda Can has a Bachelor degree from the University of Toronto. Lynda is responsible for dealing with customer service related issues. Lynda is methodical, dedicated and very calming. She has many years of previous experience working in tense customer related fields.

Jennifer Macdonald – Director residential real estate Program

An experienced Instructional Designer with a Masters of Education degree, University Of Toronto, Jennifer has worked for several organizations in varying industries, including Sun Microsystems Inc., ISOPIA, and Bank of Montreal’s Institute for Learning. Jennifer has been responsible for the development of online learning courses, creating effective and creative storyboards, consulted on GUI development, performed accurate needs analysis activities and created successful proposals for online course development. Jennifer is an independent consultant who has been engaged with the National Association of Green Agents and Brokers since 2005.

Gary Durbach – Director Technology

Gary is responsible for the associations technology. Gary is a serial entrepreneur and typifies what it means to be a ‘technology person’. He has been involved in the industry for over 17 years and with an innate ability to track technology trends he has managed to guide his clients to much success throughout his career.

Gary has founded 2 previous successful IT related businesses and most recently (2007) sold AdvanceWare Solutions, a software company with a focus on inventory & order management. In addition, Gary completed a Bachelor of Commerce degree at University of the Witwatersrand in Johannesburg, South Africa and holds numerous Microsoft Certifications.

Michael Han – Customer service representative

Michael currently is a student at University of Toronto. Is interested in pursuing a degree in law. He came to National Association of Green Agents and Brokers to work for environmental causes. Greenrealestate™ offers courses about how to make homes green efficient, environmentally friendly, as well as environmentally stable. His responsibilities include client outreach, customer service, telecommunications support and more. Michael is an outgoing, confident, organized and supportive individual who wants to help more real estate agents gain their accreditation. Darrell Cain provides the associations training in Calgary and is MaxWell Realty’s new lead trainer. Mr. Cain has been active in real estate since 1979, having worked for Ashford Realty, Re/Max, Financial Trust’s real estate division and most recently, Realty World.
