How does NAGAB's Residential and Commercial Greenrealestate™
Designation differ from other programs?
The NAGAB Greenrealestate™ designation has been developed by
Canadians for Canadians. The curriculums content is proudly made
in Canada , promotes Canadian cultural uniqueness and focuses on
Canadian statistics.

How do I earn NAGAB's Residential Greenrealestate™ Designation?
To earn your NAGAB Greenrealestate™ residential designation you
must complete three core courses comprising 8 hours of
instruction*, be actively engaged in the real estate profession,
pay a one time $125.00 fee as well as submit an application and
receive approval from the NAGAB.

How do I earn NAGAB's Commercial Greenrealestate™ Designation?
The NAGAB Greenrealestate™ Commercial designation will comprise
two core courses and one elective course comprising 8 hours of
instruction*, be actively engaged in the Commercial real estate
profession, pay a one time $125.00 fee as well as submit an
application and receive approval from the NAGAB.

I'm ready to get started with my coursework. Where do I start?
Start by visiting membership and course info .There, you can
choose a live seminar from the convenience of your office or at
your local real estate board. You may also choose
an online
course, depending on which is more convenient for you. There is no
specific order by which you should take the residential courses
although most take HEE 001 first (Home Energy Efficiency).
Commercial real estate representatives take Com 001 first. Please
remember, that all designation courses must be taken within one
year from start in order to be counted toward NAGAB's
Greenrealestate™ Designations.

Are NAGAB's Residential and Commercial Greenrealestate™
Designation courses available in class?
Residential and Commercial classroom courses are offered through
and by the Greenrealestate™ network of licensed course providers
across Canada**, which includes real estate associations+,
proprietary schools, and national franchises++. Unfortunately, we
do not currently have course offerings in each province. However,
more and more instructors are being certified to teach NAGAB's
Greenrealestate™ designation courses, and more and more course
providers are signing up to host the courses. Please be patient,
and keep checking member and
course info.

• Are NAGAB's Residential and Commercial Greenrealestate™
Designation courses available online?
Presently, three of NAGAB’s Greenrealestate™ Residential courses
are available online. You can access online courses through member
and course info. Our first residential elective course should be
available online or via webinar format in mid/late 2009. Our first
Commercial online course will be available summer 2009. Please

• How much are the Residential courses?
The 8-hour Core residential Course's online program is currently
$185. This includes a one year membership in the association ( a
$60 value). You may also choose to purchase membership ($60),
and courses individually. In class courses are $69.00 while
online courses are currently priced at $55.
• How much are the Commercial courses?
The 8-hour Core Commercial Course's online program is currently
$398. This includes a one year membership in the association ( a
$60 value). You may also choose to purchase membership ($60),
and courses individually. In class courses are currently $150
while online courses are currently priced at $125.
• What are the elective course topics?
Elective course topics will include Greenrealestate™ financing,
marketing, ….. You can take as many of the elective courses as you
like, but you are are required to complete one elective each year
in order to maintain your Greenrealestate™ Designation.
• How are elective courses offered?
Elective course topics will be offered through webinars, in class
and online.

We are still working with a team of experts and industry
professionals on the finishing touches to the best possible
curriculum we can offer for the Commercial curriculum. The
commercial program should be completed in the coming months –

• I purchased my courses online – how long do I have to complete
them?
You have seven months from the time of purchase to complete your
online courses. In that time, you may log in and out of your
account as many times as you like, and complete the course when
it is convenient for you.

Does NAGAB recognize any other certification or designation
programs related to Greenrealestate™ practices?
NAGAB's Greenrealestate™ Designation is the only one of its kind
recognized by the National Association of Green Agents and
Brokers (NAGAB).

I have substantial previous education and/or experience in Greenrealestate™. Can I use other designations or experience to
gain my Greenrealestate™ designation?
As a prospective Greenrealestate™ designee it is not possible to
opt out of the educational requirements of the program. The
association needs to guarantee that everyone who earns NAGAB's
Greenrealestate™ designation and distinguishes himself or herself
as a Greenrealestate™ designee has the same core or baseline
education from the National Association of Green Agents and
Brokers. As you know, NAGAB's Greenrealestate™ Designation is the
only training program of its kind developed by and for
Canadians. It is therefore essential that all students complete
course training from the NAGAB.

Do NAGAB's Greenrealestate™ Designation courses count toward
continuing education credit?
Yes, the courses are eligible for continuing education credit.
Please check with your course provide, Provincial or local real
estate board or association or check online by going to
Continuing Education Credits on how many credits are available.
• When am I awarded NAGAB's Greenrealestate™ Residential and
Commercial Designations?
To be awarded NAGAB's Greenrealestate™ residential or commercial
designations, you must have taken and passed the required courses,
submitted your application, and had those documents approved. You
will be notified when you have achieved NAGAB’s Greenrealestate™
Designation.

Designations after earning it?
Designees must be members (and maintain membership) in the
National Association Of Green Agents and Brokers (NAGAB), must
hold a valid real estate license and be a member of their National
and Provincial Real Estate associations.
• How much are the annual dues for the Greenrealestate™
Designations?
Annual dues are currently $60.00 for both residential and
commercial designees.
• What are the benefits of membership?
Members are entitled to use of the NAGAB logo for promotional
materials, regular updated hotsheets (concise summaries of
important and timely green related articles of interest) receipt
of a membership card and e-newsletter.)

Only designees are searchable from the public side of the website.
In addition having your designation provides one with the latest
Greenrealestate™ information, authoritative research, resources, a
searchable network for designees, marketing tools.
• I've completed courses required for my designation. When can I
gain access to the member services portion of the associations web
site and begin marketing?
You will have access to member services when you have been
informed by association that your application has been approved.
You will then receive login information for the member services
portion of the website, which contains marketing materials, the
latest news and information, and a searchable network of members
and Designees.
• How long will it take for my application to be processed?
An extraordinary number of real estate representatives are
interested in NAGAB's Greenrealestate™ Designation; therefore we
ask for your patience as we process applications. If you have
submitted your application and completed all your coursework,
average processing time is two weeks.
