If you are located in the GTA, mark your calendars for December 1st, 2010 - the Green Real Estate show is scheduled to take place that day at the Metro Convention Centre, South Building. In the past, the Green Real Estate show has provided excellent information on what is currently happening in the field with regards to retrofits, upgrades, certification programs, and more. Attend the informative hour-long sessions and obtain some of your education credits for the year (please see conference schedule as credits not awarded for all sessions). Government News

As of March 31st, 2010, the ecoENERGY Retrofit - Homes program is no longer accepting bookings for new home pre-retrofit evaluations. If your home is already registered in the program, you have until March 31st, 2011 to complete any post-retrofit evaluations in order to apply for grants from the federal government. Encourage your clients who have registered for the program but not yet completed their upgrades or booked their post-retrofit evaluation to do so as soon as possible in order to qualify to recoup at least part of their investment. You probably will be soon - it is a plastic-like material derived from cornstarch, which allows it to biodegrade within a year of being discarded or composted.
